Sportsbooks Drop Odds On Joe Biden’s White House Picks

Biden picks team

President Trump faces more opposition to his efforts to overturn the election results from district courts and Republican officials.

Pennsylvania court systems dismissed an essential election fraud lawsuit, causing the Trump administration and its allies to appeal the case. Similar failures occurred in Michigan and Nevada. All three states certify their election results this week.

Now, both Republican officials and the Biden administration prepare for the President-elect’s transition into the White House.

Sources circulating on Sunday night confirmed Joe Biden’s pick for Secretary of State, Antony Blinken. Blinken served at Joe Biden’s side for nearly two decades. Under the Clinton administration, Blinken served on the national security council. Blinken became Biden’s chief foreign policy advisor in 2002 and worked on his presidential bid in 2008.

This leaves questions as to who the other key White House members Joe Biden will nominate. Our top-rated sportsbooks drop lines in speculation.

Next Attorney General
Doug Jones +150
Sally Yates +300
Deval Patrick +400
Xavier Becerra  +400
Julian Castro +500
Tom Perez +500
Lisa Monaco +600
Merrick Garland +600

The bid for the next Attorney General is the most contentious one yet. Doug Jones leads the betting line due to practical politics. Senate Republicans signaled an endorsement for Jones, a former U.S. Attorney under the Clinton administration.

Sally Yates, former U.S. Deputy Attorney General, is also generating hype. Trump fired Yates ten days into the office for her refusal to carry out his ban on Muslim immigrants. Yates has a 27-year career working for both Republicans and Democrats.

Other notable figures include former civil rights chief Deval Patrick, Federal appeals court judge Merrick Garland, and DNC administrator Tom Perez.

Next Secretary of Defense
Michele Flournoy -2000
Tammy Ducksworth +600
Jack Reed +800

Flournoy earned her stripes during a long career in the foreign policy community. She served as the Pentagon’s policy chief and held several key roles in Washington. Biden is expected to choose Flournoy for Secretary of Defense.

Next Secretary of Treasury
Janet Yellen -300
Lael Brainard +400
Raphael Bostic +700
Elizabeth Warren +800
Roger Ferguson +800
Sarah Bloom Raskin +800

Janet Yellen is a former chair of the Federal Reserve and appears to have support from both Democrats and Republicans. Lael Brainard, Federal Reserve governor, also stands as a good choice. Brainard enjoys tacit support from progressive and moderate Democrats.
