Sportsbooks Bring Heavy Betting Action Hours Before Final Presidential Debate

Trump and Biden on screen during debate

Let us get this third second and final debate rolling!

Today, instead of inundating readers with my usual political vitriol, I will let the sportsbooks speak for themselves.

The final debate is scheduled to take place at 9:00 PM in Nashville, Tennessee.

Usually, the final presidential debate centers around foreign policy. But as we all know, this year is unique, and due to the substitution of a second debate with dueling town hall meetings, the topics have changed- tentatively.

The candidates’ debates will revolve around leadership, the pandemic, American families, climate change, race, and national security.

The Trump campaign has staggered behind the money and messaging power of Joe Biden, but recently Trump has been able to shrink that gap. The question remains whether Donald Trump will be able to lock down any undecided voters.

We want to use the final presidential debate for 2020 as a marker and go over some of the more relevant lines the sportsbooks dropped in anticipation of shifts post-debate.

Read on for our take on the lines our top recommended sportsbooks offer.

Presidential Election Odds

US Presidential Election Winner

  • Joe Biden-165
  • Donald Trump+125

Popular Vote Winner

  • Democrats -500
  • Republicans +330

While Joe Biden is poised to dominate the popular vote, Trump has closed the lead that Biden had earlier in the election.

We expect that gap to continue closing and the odds to start to shift towards the Trumpster. If you’re holding out for another underdog win, you might consider wagering on the incumbent.

Key Swing State Odds

Florida (FL)

  • Democratic Candidate -125
  • Republican Candidate -105

The gap in Florida has become extremely slim. While Biden is still favored, Trump’s campaign is working overtime to win over Florida’s crucial 29 electoral college votes.

Iowa (IA)

  • Republican Candidate -170
  • Democratic Candidate +130

Trump will most likely take Iowa, but the polls show him ahead by only 0.2 percentage points. While Iowa only offers six electoral college votes, it’s still poses a low-stakes line where you can up your bankroll.

Ohio (OH)

  • Republican Candidate -190
  • Democratic Candidate +145

Trump leads in Ohio polls by 1.7 percentage points. Keep an eye on this odd.

Pennsylvania (PA)

  • Democratic Candidate -250
  • Republican Candidate +185

Pennsylvania solidified Trump’s 2016 victory. Biden however leads Trump by 5.6 percentage points and will probably snag it’s 20 electoral college votes.

North Carolina (NC)

  • Democratic Candidate -130
  • Republican Candidate EVEN

NC is neck and neck. Biden leads in the polls by a slim three percentage points. This one may be too risky for our wagers.

Arizona (AZ)

  • Democratic Candidate -150
  • Republican Candidate +115

Arizona remains incredibly close, and the odds reflect that.
